Bahrain’s Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) has introduced 24 new government services to the MyGov mobile app, expanding coverage to sectors such as the Interior, Civil Defense, Criminal Investigation, Traffic, Transportation & Telecommunications, and Electricity & Water. The ID card issuance service now includes an organ donation icon, along with enhanced features like payment notifications and emergency alerts.
iGA Chief Executive Mohammed Ali Al Qaed said the expansion aligns with government directives under the oversight of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT). The MyGov app is being positioned as Bahrain’s unified national platform for individual services, complemented by ‘AlTajir’ for businesses and investors, and ‘Visit Bahrain’ for visitors.
As part of service consolidation, the Government Directory & Bahrain Post app will be merged into MyGov, while Electricity & Water and eTraffic app services are being integrated. The Student Exam Results app will also be discontinued, with services moved to alternative channels.
Since launching in Q1 2025, MyGov has surpassed 500,000 downloads, while secure eKey 2.0 logins have been downloaded over 450,000 times since February. User feedback gathered through a focus group in June 2025 will inform future updates.
