Türk Telekom Posts Strong Q2 2025 Results, Eyes 5G Rollout and Regional Expansion

Türk Telekom reported robust second-quarter 2025 results, fueled by strong growth in fixed broadband and mobile services, and confirmed its readiness for Türkiye’s upcoming 5G auction. Consolidated revenue for April–June rose 13.2% year-on-year to TL 50.4 billion ($1.24 billion), while EBITDA surged 23% to TL 21.3 billion, with a margin of 42.2%. Net profit climbed 14.2% to TL 4.9 billion, bringing first-half profit to TL 10.3 billion, up 28.7%.

Investment spending reached TL 13.3 billion in the quarter and TL 21.8 billion in the first half, taking total investments in Türkiye since 2005 to $22 billion. CEO Ümit Önal credited the results to strong fiber infrastructure and mobile growth, adding the company is ready for “5G and beyond.”

Mobile subscriber gains set a new record, with 678,000 net additions in the quarter—its highest since Q3 2022—bringing the total to 28.5 million. Postpaid subscriptions grew by a record 810,000 in the quarter and 2.5 million over the year. Overall, Türk Telekom’s subscriber base reached 54.2 million, including 15.5 million fixed broadband customers. The fiber network extended to 496,000 kilometers, covering 33.5 million households nationwide.

Önal also announced a major fiber transformation project in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), marking Türk Telekom’s first overseas expansion as both infrastructure provider and retail fixed internet operator. The company remains the sole provider of international internet access to the TRNC via two submarine fiber cables from Türkiye.

Franchise renewal talks for the fixed-line concession, expected to last around 25 years, are nearing completion. Önal said the renewal will enable a clear long-term strategy for Türkiye’s digital transformation, noting that 54% of LTE mobile base stations are already fiber-connected in preparation for the 5G era.
