The Moroccan International University of Rabat has joined forces with US technology giant Cisco to advance cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI) through the creation of a local Cisco Incubation Centre. The agreement, signed on Wednesday, aims to strengthen collaboration between academia, the private sector, and public institutions to accelerate Morocco’s digital transformation, foster innovation, and train future technology leaders.
A core element of the partnership is the Cisco Networking Academy, a global skills-to-jobs program designed to equip students with ICT expertise to improve career and economic opportunities. The program is offered in high schools, colleges, universities, technical institutions, community organizations, and government agencies. Its curriculum blends theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice in designing, developing, and deploying networks essential for modern organizations.
Beyond core networking, the academy offers advanced courses in areas such as security, wireless technologies, and Internet Protocol (IP) telephony, ensuring learners gain exposure to the latest technical skills in high-demand fields.
The initiative forms part of Cisco’s Country Digital Acceleration program, a worldwide effort to drive inclusive growth by unlocking the value of digitization. It emphasizes innovative technology solutions, workforce readiness, and robust cybersecurity measures to protect systems, networks, and programs from digital threats.
By integrating training, technology, and cross-sector collaboration, the new Cisco Incubation Centre in Rabat is positioned to play a pivotal role in strengthening Morocco’s digital capabilities and safeguarding its innovation ecosystem.
