The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the General Tax Authority (GTA) have jointly released a white paper on the digital transformation of Qatar’s “Dhareeba” tax portal, underscoring the country’s progress in modernizing government services and streamlining tax operations.
Advancing Digital Tax Services
Since its launch in 2020, Dhareeba has become a central platform for tax management, offering electronic declarations, payments, issuance of tax certificates, and other services. The white paper highlights how the portal has simplified processes such as taxpayer registration, filing, and payments.
Data presented shows that users saved an average of 300 minutes compared to traditional methods, reflecting the efficiency gains achieved through digital transformation.
Supporting Qatar’s Vision 2030
Both MCIT and GTA emphasized that the Dhareeba initiative aligns with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Digital Agenda 2030, which aim to establish Qatar as a global leader in digital governance through agile, citizen- and business-centric services.
Mashael Ali Al Hammadi, Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Government Affairs at MCIT, said:
“This white paper highlights Qatar’s progress in digitizing government services and the positive impact of digital solutions on efficiency and the taxpayer experience. These efforts reflect our commitment to integration across government entities and data-driven best practices.”
Echoing this, Ismail Mohammed Alsayed Almansouri, Deputy President for Support Services at GTA, stated:
“The Dhareeba portal represents a major milestone in delivering and managing tax services. It has become a model for simplifying procedures, improving operational efficiency, and providing a seamless experience for individuals and businesses.”
Toward a Smarter Ecosystem
The white paper outlines a forward-looking roadmap to expand Dhareeba’s capabilities, integrate more government services, and enhance security and flexibility within the digital tax ecosystem. This transformation aims to foster trust, transparency, and efficiency while supporting innovation-driven economic growth.
