StartUp Bahrain, the Kingdom’s leading startup platform supported by Tamkeen, hosted the latest edition of its Pitch series, building on its mission to strengthen Bahrain’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Organized with the Ministry of Industry & Commerce, Tamkeen, the Bahrain Economic Development Board, and Bahrain Development Bank, the event brought together investors, experts, and innovative startups.
The judging panel featured prominent industry leaders including Stephanie Nour (Nuwa Capital), Ronald Daher (AstroLabs), Hasan Haider (Plus VC), and Laith Al Khalili (Mumtalakat). Four Bahraini startups pitched their ventures: Unlabeled (instant SME e-commerce app), Jaras (educational children’s content platform), Wajba (digital F&B platform reducing food waste through surplus meal sales), and WeFit (fitness tech platform connecting users with gyms and trainers).
After evaluation, Wajba secured first place, recognized for its innovative approach to reducing food waste and making meals more affordable, while Jaras claimed second place for its interactive learning platform for children.
Founders of both startups expressed gratitude for the recognition and support. Wajba’s Ghassan Esfahani called the win “a new milestone” for growth, while Jaras’ Walaa Al Araibi highlighted the initiative as a valuable opportunity to engage with Bahrain’s entrepreneurship community.
This initiative aligns with Tamkeen’s 2025 strategy to enhance Bahrainis’ competitiveness in the private sector, drive digitization and sustainability, and empower startups as key players in the Kingdom’s economic development.
