Condor, a Brazilian leader in non-lethal technologies and a subsidiary of the UAE’s EDGE Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hungary-based 4iG Space and Defence Technologies (S&D) to explore the creation of a regional hub in Hungary for advanced non-lethal defence solutions.
The partnership aims to localize production and expand Europe’s capacity for non-lethal technologies through technology transfer, joint manufacturing, training, capacity building, and collaborative research. The hub would serve as a strategic platform for enhancing the capabilities of Central European law enforcement and regional security forces.
This MoU follows a series of agreements between EDGE and 4iG S&D signed in July, which included cooperation on jointly developing and producing EDGE’s Skynight air defence missile system, Shadow loitering munitions, and unmanned air traffic control solutions.
“With the strong backing of EDGE, our partnership with 4iG S&D represents a strategic step in advancing Hungary’s defence industry and supporting the wider European security ecosystem,” said Frederico Aguiar, CEO of Condor. He emphasized the commitment to delivering sovereign, localized non-lethal solutions while catalyzing innovation and fostering European industrial collaboration.
István Sárhegyi, CEO of 4iG SDT, highlighted that the long-term partnership with EDGE is designed to meet NATO members’ technological and security policy requirements. He said the Condor MoU lays the foundation for a regional center in limited-impact defence solutions through joint development and knowledge transfer, marking the beginning of significant cross-continental cooperation.
EDGE continues to strengthen ties with European defence ecosystems by fostering dynamic partnerships that deliver export-ready, NATO-aligned solutions and contribute to the modernization of security forces across the continent.
