Spotify Introduces In-App Direct Messaging for Music Sharing

Shahzaib6 months ago6 months ago01 mins

Spotify has rolled out a new direct messages feature, giving users a built-in way to share and discuss music, podcasts, and audiobooks without leaving the app. The update, launching this week, is available to all users aged 16 and above on both Free and Premium mobile accounts.

The feature enables Spotify users to text one another and share content directly inside the platform, creating a dedicated space for personal recommendations. According to Spotify, listeners have long wanted a way to keep track of songs and shows suggested by friends and family within the app itself.

With this move, Spotify positions itself not just as a music streaming service, but also as a more social platform where users can build deeper connections around shared listening experiences.
