Muscat – Oman Post has signed a landmark agreement with Danish company e-Box to establish and operate the Sultanate’s National Digital Postbox, a secure, legally recognized platform for official communication between government entities, the private sector, and individuals.
The initiative is a major milestone in Oman’s digital transformation journey under Vision 2040, providing citizens and businesses with a single, trusted channel to access official documents such as contracts, invoices, statements, and notices. Operating 24/7, the platform will replace multiple communication channels with a streamlined, reliable digital alternative built on strong national data protection standards.
Sayyid Nasr bin Badr Al Busaidi, Head of the Postal Unit at Oman Post, emphasized that the project will enable faster government services and give businesses a secure communication system, while also enhancing competitiveness and safeguarding national data.
Ulrik Falkner Thajsen, CEO of e-Box, highlighted the alignment of visions between the two partners, noting that the platform will integrate with public and private sector systems across Oman. The collaboration will also include knowledge-sharing and capacity-building to strengthen local expertise and ensure the system’s readiness for the future digital economy.
This strategic partnership underscores Oman’s drive to build a robust digital infrastructure, improve service delivery, and advance its national goal of a secure, inclusive, and innovative digital society.
