Intella, the MENA market leader in dialectal Arabic speech intelligence, has closed an oversubscribed $12.5 million Series A round led by Prosus, raising its total funding to $16.9 million. Other participants included 500 Global, Wa’ed Ventures, Hala Ventures, Idrisi Ventures, and HearstLab.
Founded in 2021 by CEO Nour Taher and CTO Omar Mansour, Intella has become a pioneer in Arabic speech services, offering enterprise-grade transcription, analytics, and AI-powered engagement across more than 25 dialects. Its proprietary models have achieved a global record 95.73% accuracy, enabling businesses to deliver localized, human-like conversations at scale.
The fresh capital will support Intella’s expansion of its AI-powered digital workforce across the Arabic-speaking world, while accelerating R&D, product innovation, and regional hiring. The company also plans to strengthen its presence in Egypt and Saudi Arabia to meet rising demand from the finance, telecommunications, and government sectors.
In 2024, Intella doubled its revenue and is on track for 7x growth in 2025. The company recently partnered with Jumia to launch Ziila, its Arabic-born digital human, integrated with the intellaCX analytics product to power next-generation, voice-enabled customer experiences.
Prosus Ventures’ Robin Voogd emphasized the scale of opportunity in MENA, noting Arabic’s global significance as the fifth most spoken language, while highlighting Intella’s success in overcoming the challenges of Arabic AI models.
