Saudi Arabia Showcases Global Study on Bridging Digital Divide at GSR25

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST), presented the findings of a pioneering study at the Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR25). The study reflects Saudi Arabia’s international commitment to closing the digital gap and advancing connectivity for underserved communities worldwide.

The initiative builds on Connecting Humanity, launched by the Kingdom in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), which seeks to deliver sustainable and affordable solutions in connectivity, infrastructure, access costs, policies, and regulations. The CST emphasized that these efforts are aligned with the Kingdom’s dedication to international cooperation and global best practices, supporting both digital economy growth and sustainable development.

According to the technical study, bridging the global digital divide by 2030 will require between $2.6 trillion and $2.8 trillion in investment. The findings highlight the scale of the challenge and the urgency of coordinated global action to deliver practical and effective solutions.

Saudi Arabia’s leadership in this area underscores its pivotal role in shaping international regulatory policies for the communications and IT sector. By driving initiatives that extend technological bridges, the Kingdom is positioning itself as a key player in building a more inclusive and sustainable digital future.
