Abu Dhabi’s Technology Innovation Institute (TII), together with VentureOne, the venture builder of ATRC, and in collaboration with e&, has launched QuantumConnect, a breakthrough hardware-based encryption solution that embeds quantum security directly into fibre infrastructure.
Leveraging TII’s proprietary Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) technology, QuantumConnect ensures future-proof data protection by transmitting encryption keys as quantum particles—making them impossible to intercept or replicate without detection. This innovation directly addresses the rising security risks posed by quantum computing, which threatens to break traditional encryption methods.
Developed in the UAE, the technology is fully aligned with national regulations, including the UAE’s new Cryptography Executive Regulation and federal ICT laws governing healthcare and other sensitive industries. By combining scientific expertise with local compliance, QuantumConnect provides mission-critical protection tailored to highly regulated sectors such as finance, government, and healthcare.
The solution integrates seamlessly into existing fibre-based infrastructure, enabling organisations to scale securely while maintaining compliance and operational resilience. Live deployments have already demonstrated significant improvements in data security and business confidence.
Dr. Najwa Aaraj, CEO of TII, highlighted that QuantumConnect embodies TII’s mission to translate complex quantum science into practical, scalable systems that safeguard critical infrastructure. Reda Nidhakou, Acting CEO of VentureOne, described the collaboration as a step toward making QuantumConnect an industry standard. Esam Mahmoud, SVP at e& UAE, emphasized that the partnership reinforces the UAE’s leadership in adopting quantum-backed encryption to secure digital infrastructure.
QuantumConnect marks a paradigm shift in the UAE’s secure communications landscape, offering a foundational layer of trust for the digital economy and positioning the nation at the forefront of global quantum innovation.
