Zain Bahrain Honoured for Bahrainization Leadership at Inaugural GCC Ceremony

Zain Bahrain has been recognized as a regional benchmark in workforce localization, securing a prestigious honor from the Committee of Labor Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries. The award celebrates the company’s achievement of a 93.33% Bahraini workforce ratio, positioning it as one of the leading employers of nationals across the region.

The recognition was presented at a landmark ceremony in Kuwait, the first of its kind to honor excellence in civil service, labor, and social affairs at a GCC-wide level. Zain Bahrain was nominated by Bahrain’s Ministry of Labor, reflecting its long-standing commitment to empowering local talent and driving Bahrainization efforts.

The accolade elevates Zain Bahrain from a top-performing national employer — recognized in both 2023 and 2024 — to a regional standard-setter. The milestone underscores its alignment with Bahrain’s broader economic and social development strategies.

Rana Al Majed, Chief Human Resources and Corporate Sustainability Officer at Zain Bahrain, emphasized the company’s vision: “Bahrainization is not just a goal – it is a core value embedded in Zain’s culture and strategic vision. We believe in the power of local talent to shape a successful future, and we are committed to continuing our investment in their growth and development.”

The historic GCC ceremony brought together ministers, officials, and business leaders from across the Gulf, marking a significant step toward regional integration and excellence in human resource development. Zain Bahrain’s achievement is being celebrated as both a corporate success and a national contribution to Bahrain’s labor market progress.
