At COMEX 2025 in Muscat, Oman announced a suite of major initiatives to fast-track its digital transformation, reinforcing its ambition to become a regional leader in artificial intelligence and technology-driven growth. The event was inaugurated by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said and brought together over 140 start-ups and 200 companies.
Key highlights included the launch of the Digital Triangle Project, a dedicated AI zone, and the Green AI Alliance, all designed to foster innovation and align with Oman Vision 2040. Agreements worth an estimated RO 42 million were signed during the event, showcasing strong investor confidence in Oman’s digital economy and building on prior successful deals.
The government also introduced 30 new services on the Unified Digital Services Portal and unveiled “Maeen,” Oman’s first home-grown AI language model, marking a milestone in the country’s push for digital sovereignty. COMEX 2025 further highlighted advancements in semiconductors, data centers, and the space industry, with a strong emphasis on nurturing Omani talent to drive innovation.
Collectively, these initiatives reflect Oman’s strategy to build a sustainable, technology-led economy, leveraging digital innovation and AI as cornerstones of its Vision 2040 roadmap.
