The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications has announced major progress in enhancing communications infrastructure across the State of Masila, marking a significant step in Algeria’s national digital transformation agenda.
During an official visit to the region in April 2025, Minister Syed Ali Zarooqi stressed the urgency of accelerating development and adhering to strict timelines. On September 11, 2025, the ministry commissioned more than 17,000 new Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) lines across several municipalities, directly improving high-speed internet access for thousands of households.
Construction is also underway on an additional 28,000 fiber optic lines, expected to be completed by the end of October 2025. These expansions aim to ensure more widespread access to fast and reliable connectivity across the state.
In parallel, the ministry has upgraded mobile network infrastructure. Three new Mobilis stations were activated on the same day as the FTTH rollout, boosting coverage and network capacity in underserved areas. Over the coming weeks, more than 10 additional stations will be launched across Masila, further strengthening mobile service availability.
These developments are part of Algeria’s broader strategy to modernize national infrastructure, expand coverage, and deliver advanced services to citizens. The progress in Masila underscores the government’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and ensuring reliable, modern communications technologies reach both urban and rural communities.
