Telecom Egypt Expands Global Network with New PoP at Aqaba Digital Hub

Telecom Egypt has established a new Point of Presence (PoP) at the Aqaba Digital Hub (ADH) in Jordan, strengthening its regional footprint and enhancing connectivity across the Middle East. The move extends Telecom Egypt’s global network into ADH, the largest carrier-neutral Tier III data center in Jordan and one of the largest in the region.

The PoP will serve as a key interconnection hub, enabling seamless data exchange and supporting regional traffic flows. The expansion is designed to meet growing high-bandwidth demands, providing hyperscalers and enterprises with robust infrastructure for cloud services, AI applications, and international data transit.

The announcement follows the launch of the Coral Bridge subsea cable, a high-capacity 15-kilometer link connecting Egypt’s Taba landing point to Aqaba’s open-access facility, developed in partnership with NaiTel, ADH’s telecom arm. Together, the Coral Bridge system and the new PoP create a resilient foundation for regional and global connectivity.

Mohamed Nasr, CEO of Telecom Egypt, described the initiatives as transformative steps in building a more resilient digital backbone for the Middle East. Eyad Abu Khorma, CEO of Aqaba Digital Hub, added that the partnership combines Egypt’s subsea reach with Aqaba’s neutral landing station to open new digital gateways across the region.
