Doha, Qatar — The GSMA has announced that MWC25 Doha will debut in Qatar, positioning the country as a strategic bridge between the MENA region and the global technology landscape. The event, part of GSMA’s flagship Mobile World Congress series alongside Barcelona, Shanghai, Las Vegas, and Kigali, will showcase how connectivity is transforming societies, industries, and economies.
Speaking at the press conference, John Hoffman, CEO of GSMA Ltd., highlighted Qatar’s role as a hub for innovation, commerce, and culture: “MWC Doha will embody our mission to unlock the power of connectivity, bringing together leaders from across the ecosystem to drive innovation, collaboration, and progress.”
MWC25 Doha will revolve around three major themes aligned with global ICT trends:
- AI Nexus: including the Agentic AI Summit, AI-Powered Telco Summit, and AI Economy Summit.
- Intelligent Economies: featuring the Security Summit, 5G Futures Summit, and Intelligent Data Centers Summit.
- Connected Industries: covering Open Gateway, Fintech & Commerce, Smart Mobility, Satellite & NTN, and IoT summits.
Over 60 countries have already confirmed participation, with expectations to surpass 100 delegations. The GSMA has signed a five-year partnership agreement to ensure continuity and long-term collaboration in Qatar.
In parallel, the Smart City Expo Doha, organized by Fira de Barcelona, will run alongside MWC25, spotlighting innovation in urban transformation, sustainability, transport, and energy.
The conference will also feature the GSMA Digital Leaders Program, making its first MENA appearance, and the GSMA Ministerial Programme, which has already confirmed nearly 30 global delegations, including ministers, regulators, and international organizations.
Hosting MWC25 Doha underscores Qatar’s growing role in advancing digital innovation regionally and internationally, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030 to build a knowledge-based economy.
