DCO Member States Adopt Joint Statement on Global Digital Cooperation at UNGA

The Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) held its first High-level Dialogue for Digital Cooperation on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly, where Member States adopted a joint statement calling for urgent global collaboration to make digital transformation a driver of resilience, prosperity, and peace.

The meeting built on the momentum of the UN Global Digital Compact (2024) and the DCO 4-Year Agenda for Digital Resilience and Prosperity (2025–2028). Member States emphasized the need to overcome digital fragmentation, expand cooperation across borders, and ensure that digital transformation fosters inclusion rather than division.

Commitments included supporting innovative cooperation models such as South-South and Triangular cooperation, aligning national efforts with shared principles of digital inclusion, responsible innovation, and resilient ecosystems. Leaders also reaffirmed the importance of data-driven tools like the DCO Digital Economy Navigator to track progress and guide policymaking.

The dialogue welcomed the expansion of the UN Group of Friends for Digital Cooperation, co-chaired by Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, as a vital platform to sustain momentum and foster multilateral dialogue within the UN system.

The joint statement positions the DCO as a catalyst for a new era of international digital cooperation, pledging to work with the UN, global organizations, and partners to build an inclusive, sustainable, and resilient digital future.
