The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Bida), in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica), has launched BanglaBiz — a centralized digital platform designed to streamline investor services by unifying key resources that were previously spread across multiple portals.
For the first time, the One Stop Service (OSS) portals of the country’s five major Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) — Bida, Beza, Bepza, BHTPA, and BSCIC — are integrated under one interface. The platform also links to the Public Private Partnership Authority (PPPA), offering investors direct access to a consolidated ecosystem.
Approved by the Bida governing body in April 2025 and backed by Jica’s financial and technical assistance, BanglaBiz introduces several foundational features:
- Landing Page: A central hub with investment service details, IPA links, FAQs, and contacts.
- “How to Apply” Tool: An interactive guide directing investors to the most relevant IPA based on business type and sector.
- Management Dashboard: A secure portal for government officials to monitor service performance, investment trends, and IPA operations.
Tomohide Ichiguchi, Chief Representative of Jica Bangladesh, called digital transformation a “strategic imperative for inclusive development,” noting that BanglaBiz strengthens institutional capacity while empowering investors.
Bida Executive Chairman Ashik Chowdhury highlighted that the platform responds to long-standing investor demand: “BanglaBiz is a single, digital entry point for starting and operating in Bangladesh. It was built from the service seeker’s perspective, and we hope it sparks healthy competition among agencies to improve delivery.”
While the initial release focuses on integration and transparency, future phases will introduce a Business Starter Package, BanglaBiz ID (BBID), and fully digitalized Work Permit and Security Clearance processes, ensuring interoperability across government systems.
The initiative aims to evolve into a comprehensive Investor Single Window Platform (ISWP), reinforcing Bangladesh’s commitment to digital transformation, investment facilitation, and global competitiveness.
