On World Tourism Day (September 27), Orange Jordan, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MOTA), launched the “Digital Solutions Hackathon for the Tourism Sector”—a three-month initiative designed to empower Jordanian university students to create digital solutions that enhance accessibility for people with disabilities in tourism.
Running from October to December 2025, the hackathon calls on young innovators to design practical tools that break down barriers to inclusive travel, ensuring equal access to Jordan’s cultural and natural heritage. Participants will develop solutions that could improve accessibility across transportation, accommodation, and tourist sites, aligning with Jordan’s digital transformation and inclusivity goals.
MOTA is directly involved in guiding the competition, contributing mentors and jury members to ensure projects meet national tourism objectives. This public-private partnership underscores the strategic alignment between government priorities and Orange Jordan’s commitment to digital empowerment.
The theme, “Differently Abled, Definitely Enabled,” reflects a strong call to action, encouraging students from diverse academic backgrounds to collaborate, innovate, and present prototypes by December 3, 2025, coinciding with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Winners will be recognized for innovation, feasibility, and impact on the tourism sector.
For Orange Jordan, the hackathon is part of its broader CSR strategy, which emphasizes digital inclusion, youth empowerment, and community engagement. By integrating social responsibility with technological innovation, the company aims to inspire a new generation of tech leaders while promoting Jordan as a regional model for inclusive tourism.
