Yango Pakistan, a subsidiary of the global tech company Yango Group, has partnered with local police authorities in Lahore and Islamabad/Rawalpindi to enhance road safety and community awareness. The initiative included distributing helmets to partner drivers and couriers, alongside training sessions focused on traffic rules, civic sense, and accident prevention.
In Lahore, the event was led by Yango’s Head of Operations, Zaheer Ahmad, and attended by senior police officials including Fahad Ahmad, SSP Lahore Traffic Police, and Farrukh Raees, DSP Lahore Traffic Police. The officials praised Yango’s role in creating income opportunities for bike drivers while also recognizing its efforts to promote safe driving practices. SSP Ahmad reiterated the police’s commitment to supporting such initiatives that safeguard the community.
In Islamabad/Rawalpindi, the session featured Yango’s Head of Public Policy and Government Affairs, Jahangir Khan, and was attended by Malik Usman Shaukat, President of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce, Qazi Khalil Farooq, Vice President RCCI, and Qaiser Mehmood, DSP Traffic Civil Lines, Rawalpindi Police. DSP Mehmood shared alarming statistics on bike-related accidents and fatalities, underscoring the importance of safety campaigns. Both law enforcement and business leaders commended Yango for combining economic empowerment with community responsibility.
