Riyadh — Lenovo has officially begun construction on its new Middle East and Africa (MEA) Regional Headquarters at the iconic Majdoul Tower in Riyadh, marking a major milestone in the company’s regional expansion and long-term commitment to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
The ceremonial event, attended by senior Lenovo executives including Matt Zielinski (Executive Vice President and President of International Markets), Lawrence Yu (Head of MEA Regional Headquarters), and Giovanni Di Filippo (Vice President & General Manager, Lenovo Saudi Arabia), celebrated the start of the RHQ build-out. Scheduled for completion by March 2026, the new headquarters will fully comply with the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia (MISA) guidelines for regional headquarters operations.
Located in one of Riyadh’s most prominent business landmarks, the RHQ will bring Lenovo closer to key stakeholders, including government agencies, Public Investment Fund (PIF)-affiliated entities, and technology partners. It will serve as the strategic nerve center for Lenovo’s operations across the Middle East and Africa — driving innovation, partnerships, and talent development.
“This groundbreaking marks a defining moment in Lenovo’s journey in the Middle East and Africa,” said Lawrence Yu. “By establishing our Regional Headquarters in Riyadh, we’re embedding Lenovo into the fabric of Saudi Arabia’s future. Together with ALAT and PIF, we’re building advanced manufacturing, R&D, and talent development capabilities that will make Saudi Arabia a hub for innovation and sustainable growth.”
Partnership with ALAT to Accelerate Local Manufacturing and Innovation
Earlier this year, Lenovo and ALAT — a PIF-owned company — began work on a 200,000-square-meter advanced manufacturing facility in Riyadh’s Special Integrated Logistics Zone (SILZ). The facility, set to produce “Saudi Made” Lenovo devices by 2026, represents a cornerstone of the company’s localization strategy.
Beyond manufacturing, the Lenovo–ALAT partnership encompasses R&D collaboration, talent development, and technology transfer — supporting the Kingdom’s ambition to rank among the world’s top 15 nations in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing by 2030.
The collaboration is expected to create over 15,000 direct and 45,000 indirect jobs, fostering knowledge transfer and contributing to Saudi Arabia’s economic diversification goals under Vision 2030.
The establishment of Lenovo’s MEA Regional Headquarters at Majdoul Tower underscores the company’s broader vision: to strengthen its regional footprint, empower local innovation ecosystems, and play a leading role in the Kingdom’s transformation into a global technology and innovation hub.
