DHAKA – Robi Axiata PLC and Save the Children in Bangladesh have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly promote digital inclusion and skills development among adolescents and young people across the country.
The agreement was signed in Dhaka by ASM Rahmat Ullah, Interim Deputy Country Director of Save the Children in Bangladesh, and Shahed Alam, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer of Robi Axiata PLC.
The partnership seeks to equip Bangladesh’s youth with the digital skills and knowledge necessary to participate effectively in the digital economy. Through this initiative, young participants from both urban and rural areas will receive training in digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and freelancing, as well as access to internet connectivity and digital learning tools.
In addition to training programs, Robi and Save the Children will collaborate on school-based initiatives to strengthen digital literacy, support youth-focused community hubs, and raise awareness through interactive digital platforms that promote responsible and inclusive technology use.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, ASM Rahmat Ullah emphasized the transformative potential of digital education:
“Digital education and inclusion are essential to unlocking the potential of Bangladesh’s young population. Many young people still lack access to technology. Through this initiative, we aim to enhance their skills while creating opportunities that help them become socially and economically self-reliant.”
Shahed Alam highlighted Robi’s commitment to social impact through technology:
“We are committed to using technology to bring about positive social change. Building digital competence and employability among youth remains a top priority for us. This collaboration with Save the Children will expand digital inclusion across Bangladesh and help young people build a more prosperous future.”
The partnership aligns with Bangladesh’s Vision 2041 and national goals for digital transformation, aiming to bridge the digital divide and prepare the next generation for a future driven by technology, innovation, and inclusive growth.
