PLDT Global and stc Pay Bahrain Partner to Enable Direct E-Wallet Cash-Ins for Filipinos Abroad

PLDT Global Corp., the international arm of PLDT Group, has expanded its partnership with stc Group through a new collaboration with stc Pay Bahrain, enabling direct e-wallet cash-ins and e-gift voucher purchases for Filipinos living and working overseas.

The partnership allows stc Pay app users to transfer funds directly into Philippine e-wallets, bringing faster, more secure, and more convenient digital remittance options to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). The platform will also enable users to buy and send e-gift vouchers, further enhancing the ease of cross-border digital payments and gifting.

“This partnership brings digital convenience to our fellow Filipinos abroad and positions PLDT Global as a trusted partner of fintech,” said Albert V. Villa-Real, President and CEO of PLDT Global Corp.

Expanding Fintech Services for Overseas Filipinos

In the coming months, PLDT Global plans to introduce additional features within the partnership, including:

  • Mobile loan purchases
  • Content subscriptions
  • Smart Virtual Number — a SIM-less Philippine mobile number designed for use overseas

These innovations will allow Filipinos abroad to stay digitally connected to home while managing their finances more efficiently through a single platform.

Strengthening Fintech Presence in the Middle East

This new agreement builds on PLDT Global’s earlier collaboration with stc Bank in Saudi Arabia, which integrated stc Bank as a payment option into PLDT’s Tindahan ni Bossing (TinBo) platform and the PLDT Global app.

The strengthened alliance with stc Group underscores PLDT’s broader strategy to expand its fintech footprint in the Middle East, one of the largest global hubs for overseas Filipino workers. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to improving financial inclusion, enhancing digital remittances, and empowering the global Filipino community through technology.
