ZIGRAM Partners with PSPAN to Strengthen Nepal’s AML Framework and Support FATF Compliance Goals

Kathmandu — October 9, 2025: ZIGRAM, a global RegTech and data solutions company, has partnered with the Payment Service Providers Association of Nepal (PSPAN) to enhance Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance across Nepal’s expanding digital payments landscape. The collaboration represents a significant step toward aligning Nepal’s regulatory ecosystem with international financial integrity standards and supporting its efforts to exit the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list.

Under this partnership, ZIGRAM will deploy its Complete AML System, an integrated RegTech platform powered by its proprietary AML Stack, which provides automated transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and regulatory reporting capabilities. The system will integrate both global and Nepal-specific watchlists, enabling payment service providers to detect and report suspicious activity with greater precision and operational efficiency.

Abhishek Bali, CEO and Co-founder of ZIGRAM, described the initiative as a milestone for Nepal’s financial technology ecosystem:

“Our collaboration with PSPAN represents a meaningful step in enabling Nepal’s payment ecosystem to access world-class AML technologies tailored for local realities. By offering scalable and cost-effective solutions, we aim to empower payment service providers to innovate confidently while meeting regulatory expectations efficiently.”

PSPAN, the national association representing licensed digital payment providers regulated by the Nepal Rastra Bank, will facilitate the integration of ZIGRAM’s AML tools among its members. This move supports the association’s ongoing efforts to strengthen risk management, transparency, and compliance governance in Nepal’s fintech sector.

Binay Khadka, President of PSPAN and CEO of Khalti by IME, emphasized the collaboration’s importance for the country’s financial reputation:

“Strengthening AML and compliance standards is a top priority for Nepal’s digital payments ecosystem. This partnership with ZIGRAM will help PSPs access best-in-class AML solutions that safeguard the industry and support Nepal’s journey out of the FATF grey list.”

Binay Regmi, PSPAN Secretary and CEO of CityPay, added that the initiative will ensure that digital financial inclusion is built on secure and transparent foundations.

“By working with ZIGRAM, we are ensuring that this growth is anchored in strong AML and compliance practices that build trust and resilience across the industry.”

The collaboration is expected to play a vital role in Nepal’s broader fintech reforms, bolstering the country’s financial crime resilience and positioning it as a regional model for regulatory modernization and digital trust.
