Synology, the Taiwan-based leader in network-attached storage (NAS) and enterprise data management, unveiled a new range of cyber resilience and data protection solutions at its Solution Day 2025 event in Dubai. The company also shared insights from its latest 2025 Enterprise Survey, shedding light on the cybersecurity challenges faced by organisations in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
The event showcased Synology’s newest releases — DP7200 and APM1.1, both part of the ActiveProtect portfolio — designed to enhance workload coverage, bolster cyber resilience, and simplify compliance. These updates strengthen immutability and air-gap protection capabilities through technologies such as Write Once, Read Many (WORM) and network isolation, helping prevent data tampering and unauthorized access.
Synology’s enhanced ecosystem supports the 3-2-1-1-0 backup strategy, ensuring multiple copies of data, including offsite and immutable backups, to safeguard critical business operations and guarantee business continuity.
Among the products demonstrated were the PAS Series, offering active-active dual controllers and full NVMe performance for high-availability environments, and the GS Series, which delivers petabyte-level scalability across multiple nodes for expanding enterprise storage needs.
Antoine Yang, Regional Sales Manager at Synology, emphasized that UAE enterprises are increasingly adopting hybrid cloud strategies to enhance flexibility and innovation. “While hybrid approaches bring agility, managing multiple environments securely and efficiently remains a challenge. True cyber resiliency lies in balancing security, performance, and cost efficiency,” Yang said.
The 2025 Enterprise Survey findings underscored persistent gaps in cyber resilience across the region:
- Less than 18% of enterprises feel confident in handling rising cyber threats.
- 32% have suffered data loss or security incidents within the past year.
- 70% of IT leaders now prioritise security as a core infrastructure goal.
- 63% identify data protection and disaster recovery as key drivers of future data growth.
- Yet, 63% struggle with the cost of maintaining business continuity.
These insights highlight a pressing need for comprehensive data protection strategies that integrate scalability, continuity, and operational simplicity.
Synology also announced new AI-powered productivity and collaboration tools, including enhancements to its Office Suite, unified communication platform, and AI Console, enabling businesses to deploy custom AI agents and on-premises AI servers for smarter workflows.
“In markets like the UAE, where control, cost efficiency, and scalability are paramount, our solutions ensure that data remains local, protected, and easy to manage,” Yang added. “Synology remains committed to driving digital transformation through a unified platform for data management, collaboration, and security.”
