Dubai — The 45th edition of GITEX Global, one of the world’s largest and most influential technology exhibitions, opened in Dubai on Monday, bringing together over 6,800 tech companies and 2,000 startups from around 180 countries to showcase the latest advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), big data, and digital governance.
Among the major participants are 300 Chinese technology companies, including China Mobile, China Electronics Corporation, ZTE, H3C, iFlytek, and Xpeng AEROHT, whose innovations in AI robotics, intelligent solutions, and flying vehicles have drawn significant international attention. Their presence underscores China’s growing influence in the global technology landscape.
UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended the exhibition and toured pavilions from leading global firms including Amazon Web Services (AWS), IBM, Microsoft, Huawei, and Xpeng AEROHT.
“GITEX has evolved beyond being a gathering of technology leaders from East and West — it has become a global movement that reflects the UAE’s determination to lead change, turn challenges into opportunities, and build strategic partnerships that strengthen our position as a central hub of the global digital economy,” Sheikh Mohammed stated.
This year’s exhibition centers on AI infrastructure development, innovation acceleration, and sustainable, AI-driven economic growth. A lineup of conferences, expert panels, and interactive sessions aims to foster cross-sector collaboration and global partnerships in emerging technologies.
Nadir Saleh Habib Al Batrani, an exhibitor from Oman, described GITEX as “a barometer for global technological innovation.” He highlighted the growing influence of Chinese participants: “Their advanced technologies — from flying cars to AI robots — have been exceptionally well-received, reflecting the world’s recognition of China’s rapid progress in the tech sector.”
Held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, GITEX Global 2025 runs through October 17, reaffirming the UAE’s ambition to remain a global nexus for digital transformation and AI-powered innovation.
