ITHCA Invests $20 Million in U.S. Firm Movandi to Advance Oman’s Semiconductor and Smart Communications Vision

Muscat — Oman’s ITHCA Group has invested $20 million (approximately OMR 7.7 million) in Movandi, a U.S.-based technology company specializing in RF chipsets, beamforming systems, and smart antennas. The investment is part of Oman’s broader effort to establish a national innovation hub for semiconductors and AI-enabled communications under the Oman Vision 2040 framework.

The partnership will enable knowledge transfer, talent development, and the creation of a new R&D office in Muscat focused on next-generation communications powered by artificial intelligence.

“This collaboration reflects our commitment to building quality partnerships with global leaders and developing an integrated local ecosystem that positions Oman as a regional hub for future technologies,” said Eng. Said bin Abdullah Al Mandhari, CEO of ITHCA Group.

Maryam Rofougaran, co-founder of Movandi, described the agreement as a “strategic bridge between Silicon Valley and Oman,” accelerating the development of advanced communications systems including 5G, satellite connectivity, and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA).

Movandi’s technologies are designed to enhance network performance and reduce costs across urban and remote regions. Its new Muscat R&D center will serve as a regional hub for smart communications innovation, supporting Oman’s ambition to localize high-tech industries and foster digital transformation.

The move aligns with Oman’s national goals to diversify its economy, strengthen its position in the global technology supply chain, and build a robust semiconductor and AI ecosystem that drives sustainable growth.
