LUMS Centre for Entrepreneurship Joins National Consortium to Lead Gaming and Animation Innovation

Lahore — The LUMS Centre for Entrepreneurship (LCE) has joined a national consortium led by HUM TV Network to manage the Centre of Excellence in Gaming and Animation (CEGA) — a landmark initiative funded by the IGNITE Fund and the Ministry of IT & Telecom. CEGA aims to accelerate Pakistan’s digital creative economy by training gaming and animation start-ups and fostering a robust nationwide ecosystem for these industries.

With operations in Karachi and Lahore, CEGA is designed to nurture Pakistan’s growing community of game developers and animators, many of whom are already contributing to international studios or freelancing across global markets. The initiative offers incubation opportunities, mentorship from industry leaders, specialized workshops, co-working facilities, and access to investment networks to help transform ideas into scalable ventures.

As a knowledge partner, LCE will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering training programs, curriculum modules, and entrepreneurship workshops. These will focus on practical skill development — including prototype building, data analysis, market validation, and business scaling — empowering participants to compete globally in the fast-evolving gaming and animation sectors.

“Gaming and animation are among the most dynamic industries today,” said Jazib Zahir, Director at LCE. “Through CEGA, entrepreneurs will gain the mentorship and structure they need to translate creative ideas into impactful ventures. There’s immense potential here — and this program will help unlock it.”

LCE’s involvement underscores its mission to catalyze innovation and economic growth in Pakistan by nurturing start-ups across diverse emerging industries. The collaboration positions CEGA as a cornerstone in developing a globally competitive creative technology ecosystem in Pakistan.
