G42’s 1GW Stargate UAE AI Infrastructure Cluster Nears 2026 Completion Milestone

Abu Dhabi — Artificial intelligence leader G42 announced major progress on Stargate UAE, its flagship 1GW AI infrastructure cluster under construction in Abu Dhabi. Developed by Khazna Data Centers, a G42 company, the project is part of the 5GW UAE–U.S. AI Campus, unveiled earlier this year in partnership with OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, Cisco, and SoftBank.

The company confirmed that construction is now well underway, with the first 200MW phase moving rapidly from design to execution and on track for handover in 2026. Khazna is employing a design-to-build model to ensure seamless integration between planning, engineering, and construction.

“Design and engineering work for Stargate UAE is progressing to plan, with civil, structural, and architectural construction well advanced,” said a G42 spokesperson. “Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are also being finalized, and key modular components have entered production.”

All long-lead equipment procurement has been completed, and the first mechanical system deliveries have already arrived on-site — a milestone that underscores the project’s robust supply chain efficiency and execution capability.

Once complete, Stargate UAE will serve as a cornerstone of the UAE’s national AI ecosystem, supporting G42’s vision of building an “Intelligence Grid” — a scalable, AI-powered infrastructure driving the country’s digital transformation and enabling an AI-native society.

This milestone reinforces the UAE’s position as a global hub for AI infrastructure investment and innovation, leveraging partnerships with world-leading technology companies to advance data-driven development across industries.
