Muscat, October 19, 2025 — Oman has officially launched the Hadatha Center for Cybersecurity Manufacturing at Middle East College, marking a pivotal milestone in strengthening the nation’s cyber resilience, digital economy, and technology innovation ecosystem.
The initiative is led by the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology (MTCIT) through the National Information Security Center, in partnership with Middle East College. It forms part of the National Executive Program for Cybersecurity Manufacturing, which aims to position Oman as a regional hub for cybersecurity and digital innovation.
According to the Oman News Agency (ONA), the Hadatha Center is designed to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and research in cybersecurity by connecting government agencies, private enterprises, investors, and academia under one collaborative framework. The goal is to build a self-sustaining national cybersecurity industry, generate economic opportunities, and reduce reliance on imported technologies.
Aziza Sultan Al-Rashidia, Assistant Director General of Cybersecurity Programs at MTCIT, emphasized the strategic importance of the initiative:
“The ministry believes in supporting the innovation ecosystem in cybersecurity in Oman, as innovation has become an urgent necessity in modern societies. The Hadatha Center will play a vital role in developing local talent, driving creative solutions, and advancing vital national projects.”
The Center’s roadmap includes specialized training programs, applied research workshops, and innovation-driven activities such as the upcoming “Hadatha Hackathon”, which will challenge participants to solve real-world cybersecurity threats. It will also run accelerator and incubator programs to nurture promising Omani startups and foster commercial adoption of indigenous cybersecurity technologies.
Additionally, the Hadatha Center will collaborate with Oman’s Fourth Industrial Revolution Center to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies into cybersecurity solutions, further enhancing the Sultanate’s digital economy and innovation competitiveness.
The launch of the Hadatha Center underscores Oman’s long-term vision to build a robust, knowledge-based economy rooted in digital sovereignty, talent development, and technological self-sufficiency.
