Honeywell has announced the launch of a new production line for its advanced handheld mobile computers — the ScanPal EDA57 and CT47 — at its Dhahran facility in Saudi Arabia. The move marks a major milestone in the company’s localization strategy, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 to advance high-tech manufacturing and local industrial capabilities.
The Dhahran site, already a key hub for Honeywell’s regional operations, now supports assembly, integration, and testing of these devices, ensuring faster delivery and stronger local support for customers. The expansion complements Honeywell’s existing local manufacturing footprint, which includes gas detection solutions produced within the Kingdom.
The ScanPal EDA57 is a rugged 5G- and Wi-Fi 6-enabled handheld computer designed for demanding environments in retail, warehousing, and field service. Meanwhile, the CT47, part of Honeywell’s Mobility Edge platform, offers enterprise-grade durability and real-time visibility for supply chain, manufacturing, and logistics operations.
“This new production line marks another important milestone in our localization journey,” said George Bou Mitri, President of Honeywell Industrial Automation for the Middle East, Turkey, Africa, and Central Asia. “By producing globally renowned devices in Dhahran, we’re helping Saudi-based industries digitalize operations, enhance productivity, and create in-country value in support of Vision 2030.”
Honeywell’s continued expansion in the Kingdom underscores its long-term commitment to local talent development and technology transfer. Nearly half of its Saudi workforce comprises nationals, with a growing focus on fostering innovation and sustainable industrial growth from within Saudi Arabia.
