The 20th edition of StartUp Bahrain Pitch concluded with Tamkeen—the Labour Fund—honoring the most promising Bahraini entrepreneurs in an event that reaffirmed the Kingdom’s growing role as a regional hub for innovation and startup development.
Held under the patronage of Tamkeen, in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), and the Bahrain Development Bank (BDB), the event showcased Bahrain’s vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem and its focus on empowering youth-led innovation.
A panel of distinguished judges, including Abe Seksek (Partner, Sekuity Ventures), Ghassan Halawa (Founder & CEO, Parachute 16), Laith Al Khalili (Associate Director, Mumtalakat), and Safa Sharif (EO Accelerator Board Member), evaluated the pitches based on creativity, market potential, and business scalability.
Among the standout Bahraini startups were:
- Dona’s Wonders – specializing in 100% gluten-free and keto-friendly dishes and pastries.
- You’re Nuts – a natural nut butter producer committed to healthy, additive-free products.
- Herbal Mama – a haircare brand offering plant-based, chemical-free products.
- Esbitar – an on-demand healthcare service delivering medical care directly to patients’ homes.
After deliberation, Dona’s Wonders clinched first place, while You’re Nuts secured second place.
Dona Maria, founder of Dona’s Wonders, expressed gratitude for the recognition, calling it a “key milestone” that would help the startup accelerate its growth and expand its impact. Ali Albasri of You’re Nuts thanked the organizers for providing a platform that connects entrepreneurs with mentors, investors, and industry experts, describing the experience as “inspiring and transformative.”
Tamkeen emphasized that the event aligns with its 2025 strategic priorities—enhancing Bahraini competitiveness in the private sector, supporting enterprise growth, and promoting sustainability and digitization. The initiative reflects Bahrain’s commitment to building a dynamic, innovation-driven economy that nurtures the next generation of entrepreneurs.
