In his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued a resolution reconstituting the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council (AIATC) — reaffirming the UAE’s commitment to advancing artificial intelligence and emerging technologies as central pillars of its national development agenda.
Under the new structure, Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan will continue to serve as Chairman, while Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been appointed Vice-Chairman.
The Council’s membership includes:

Since its inception, the AIATC has played a pivotal role in shaping Abu Dhabi’s AI and advanced technology landscape — developing and regulating policies, strategies, and implementation frameworks that drive innovation and competitiveness across key sectors.
The Council leads funding, investment, and research programmes in collaboration with both local and international partners, aligning its initiatives with the UAE’s long-term digital vision and the nation’s leadership strategy to position Abu Dhabi as a global center for AI excellence.
This latest reconstitution aligns with the Abu Dhabi Digital Government Strategy 2025–2027, which aims to make Abu Dhabi the world’s first fully AI-native government by 2027, supported by strategic investments in digital transformation and an advanced technology ecosystem.
