Thawani Pay Becomes Oman’s First Fintech Licensed by Visa to Issue Credit Cards

MUSCAT – October 27, 2025: In a landmark development for Oman’s financial technology landscape, Thawani Pay has become the first Omani fintech licensed by Visa to issue credit cards, signaling a major leap forward in the nation’s digital payments ecosystem.

The achievement was commemorated at an exclusive signing ceremony in Muscat, attended by senior executives from Visa and Thawani Pay. The agreement paves the way for Thawani to launch a new range of Visa-powered credit cards, offering users global acceptance, advanced security features, and a fully digital onboarding experience through Thawani’s integrated payment platform.
