Dubai, October 28, 2025 — PTCL Group (PTCL & Ufone 4G) represented Pakistan at GITEX Global 2025, one of the world’s largest technology exhibitions, underscoring the nation’s progress in digital transformation, industrial innovation, and social inclusion.
Exhibiting within the e& pavilion, PTCL Group highlighted initiatives that blend technology with social impact — focusing on digital inclusion, women’s empowerment, and accessibility for persons with disabilities. The Group also unveiled several new partnerships that will accelerate Pakistan’s digital ecosystem.
Among the key announcements was an agreement with the GSMA under its Open Gateway initiative, enabling global interconnectivity between telecom operators to simplify access for digital services and enhance security for developers and enterprises.
Other major partnerships included:
- Cequens – to introduce Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) in Pakistan, enabling businesses to manage SMS, voice, and WhatsApp engagement from one unified system.
- Mercantile (Apple’s authorized distributor) – to launch a Device as a Service (DaaS) model for enterprises, providing access to Apple devices through flexible subscriptions.
- Smart MEP – to deploy Vodafone’s IoT Core Platform in Pakistan, powering industrial IoT solutions for sectors like energy, manufacturing, and utilities.
PTCL Group also showcased impactful social innovation programs, including:
- Ba-Ikhtiar, a women’s empowerment initiative with the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, supporting over 2,000 women in 23 flood-affected districts through digital literacy and entrepreneurship.
- Suno, an AI-powered early warning system developed with ConnectHear, which converts disaster alerts into sign language videos shared via Ufone 4G’s WhatsApp chatbot — enhancing accessibility for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community.
In addition, PTCL Group earned the Gold Dragon Award at the Dragons of Asia Awards for its digital campaign tackling water scarcity in Thar, which uses solar-powered water pumps and filtration units to provide clean drinking water to more than 15,000 residents, with expansion plans to reach 200,000 people in Thar and South Punjab.
During GITEX, Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja met with PTCL Group CEO Hatem Bamatraf and e& International CEO Khalifa Shamsi to discuss strengthening Pakistan’s digital ecosystem and expanding collaborations with international technology leaders.
