Robi Axiata Reports 55% Profit Growth Despite Slight Revenue Decline in 2025

Dhaka, October 27, 2025 — Robi Axiata PLC, Bangladesh’s second-largest mobile network operator, recorded a strong 55% increase in consolidated net profit, reaching Tk625 crore in the first nine months of 2025, even as total revenue experienced a marginal decline.

According to its financial report, Robi’s total revenue stood at Tk7,407.35 crore from January to September 2025, slightly lower than Tk7,594.56 crore in the same period of 2024. The decrease came mainly from its mobile services segment, which fell by Tk200 crore (2.88%), and interconnect services, which dropped by Tk12.28 crore (3%).

Despite the slight revenue dip, profitability rose sharply due to cost efficiency measures and operational improvements. Earnings per share (EPS) climbed to Tk1.19, up from Tk0.77 a year earlier.

In Q3 2025 alone, Robi’s revenue increased 1.5% year-on-year to Tk2,511 crore, while net profit grew to Tk242.27 crore, with an EPS of Tk0.46. The company attributed the improvement to disciplined financial management, even amid challenges like extended monsoon conditions that affected telecom spending.

Commenting on the results, Ziad Shatara, Managing Director and CEO of Robi Axiata, said: “We are pleased with the strong momentum in our cost efficiency program, which continues to provide us with the flexibility to sustain growth. We remain confident in our trajectory going forward.”

During Q3, Robi contributed Tk1,382.7 crore to the government exchequer—representing 55% of total revenue—and invested Tk314.9 crore in capital expenditure. Its active subscriber base reached 5.75 crore, with 4.48 crore data users and 3.96 crore 4G subscribers. Currently, 77.9% of Robi’s users are data subscribers, and 69% use 4G—the highest ratio in the industry. The company now operates 18,500 4G sites, covering nearly 99% of Bangladesh’s population.

Robi said it remains focused on sustaining growth through innovation, network expansion, and digital inclusion initiatives, reinforcing its position as a leader in Bangladesh’s telecom sector.
