Batelco by Beyon Commissions Bahrain’s First White Space Data Centre at Gateway Gulf 2025

Manama — November 3, 2025:
Beyon has announced the completion and commissioning of the new Batelco by Beyon White Space Data Centre, the first of its kind in Bahrain. The announcement was made during the Gateway Gulf Investor Forum 2025, held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Manama.

A Landmark for Bahrain’s Digital Infrastructure

The commissioning represents a major milestone in Batelco’s data centre journey and a cornerstone in Beyon’s mission to drive Bahrain’s digital transformation through world-class infrastructure. The new 6,000 sqm White Space Data Centre is part of Beyon’s Data Oasis, a 140,000 sqm digital campus in southern Bahrain designed to host the Kingdom’s growing ecosystem of AI, cloud, and hyperscale computing services.

Built to the highest international standards, the facility features agnostic, adaptive technology capable of serving multiple sectors — from cloud service providers and hyperscalers to government entities and large enterprises. With redundant power and cooling systems, the data centre delivers enterprise-grade reliability, scalability, and sustainability to meet the demands of an AI-driven economy.

Sustainability and Power Efficiency

Aligned with Beyon’s long-term sustainability strategy, the facility is directly connected to Beyon’s Solar Park, drawing a substantial share of its electricity from renewable energy sources. This makes it one of the most power-efficient and environmentally responsible data centres in the region.

Leadership Remarks

Andrew Kvaalseth, CEO of Beyon, stated:

“We are delighted to announce the completion of Batelco’s new White Space Data Centre — the result of extensive effort and collaboration. This project could not have been achieved without the unwavering support of Bahrain’s government entities. Our focus remains on attracting global technology companies and strengthening Bahrain’s standing as a digital powerhouse in the region.”

Maitham Abdulla, CEO of Batelco by Beyon, added:

“This new facility is the largest and most power-dense data centre in Bahrain and one of the most efficient in the region. It’s designed to serve the evolving needs of both enterprise and government clients, while helping them meet sustainability goals through integration with Beyon’s Solar Park. Delivering Bahrain’s first White Space Data Centre reinforces our commitment to developing a smart, sustainable, and globally competitive digital ecosystem.”

Advancing Bahrain’s Smart Future

With this milestone, Beyon continues to position Bahrain as a regional leader in data infrastructure and cloud innovation, empowering the nation’s AI, cloud computing, and digital transformation ambitions. The new facility will play a pivotal role in attracting international investment, supporting hyperscale operations, and enabling the country’s Vision 2030 goals for sustainable digital growth.
