Manama, November 3, 2025 — Beyon has officially submitted the comprehensive Master Plan for its landmark Digital City Bahrain project to the Urban Planning and Development Authority (UPDA). The announcement was made during Gateway Gulf 2025, in the presence of Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of Beyon Group, alongside senior officials from both organizations.
The submission represents a major milestone for the $1.5 billion flagship development, envisioned as a cutting-edge ecosystem for technology, research, and digital enterprise. Located at Beyon’s headquarters in Hamala, Digital City will combine commercial, educational, residential, and lifestyle components to create a fully integrated smart urban community.
The Master Plan outlines a dynamic, human-centered design featuring 70,000 m² of landscaped open spaces, retail and hospitality zones, healthcare facilities, mobility solutions, and advanced digital infrastructure — all designed to foster innovation and sustainability.
Faisal Al Jalahma, Chairman of the Digital City Development Company, described the project as a transformative step for Bahrain’s economy. “Digital City will be a dynamic environment where business and community life thrive. Its design reflects Bahrain’s vision for a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready economy,” he said.
Eng. Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Khayat, CEO of the Urban Planning and Development Authority, noted that the plan aligns with Bahrain’s National Urban Development Strategy, ensuring integration with national infrastructure and supporting sustainable growth.
The submission initiates the authority’s formal review process, leading to detailed design and enabling works. Once completed, Digital City Bahrain is expected to become a national model for digital transformation, combining global expertise with Bahrain’s long-term vision for a knowledge-based economy.
