Jordan’s electronic gaming sector continues to gain speed, with market value reaching $312.8 million in 2024, according to reports cited by the Jordan News Agency (Petra). Driven by royal support and a growing youth talent pool, the industry is projected to nearly double by 2030, growing at an annual rate of 11.5%.
The surge reflects the vision of HRH Crown Prince Hussein, who has prioritized innovation, youth empowerment, and digital transformation as pillars of the Kingdom’s economic modernization.
Dania Saeed, Programme Coordinator for Game Design and Development at Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), noted that the sector presents growing opportunities in programming, production, digital exports, and e-sports—now recognized as a key economic driver attracting sponsorship and investment.
HTU, established under the Crown Prince Foundation, launched Jordan’s first academic program in game design and development, preparing graduates for global competitiveness through practical education and collaboration with major gaming companies.
Industry leaders such as Tamatem Games CEO Hussam Hammo and Maysalward CEO Nour Khrais credited the Crown Prince’s efforts and national initiatives—like the Jordan Gaming Lab and Aqaba Gaming Lab—for nurturing local talent and positioning Jordan as a regional gaming hub supported by education, entrepreneurship, and investment-friendly policies.
The National Strategy for Games and E-Sports 2023–2027 further aims to boost the sector’s contribution to 3% of GDP, create 3,000 jobs, and attract international investors, aligning with the Economic Modernisation Vision 2033. With rising global recognition and a thriving creative ecosystem, Jordan’s gaming industry is emerging as a regional benchmark for innovation and digital growth.
