Umniah by Beyon has announced a landmark partnership with Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) to advance the next phase of connectivity in Jordan, marking a significant milestone in the Kingdom’s digital transformation journey. The agreement was signed during the Gateway Gulf Forum 2025 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Bahrain, in the presence of H.E. Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of Beyon Group.
Under the five-year agreement, Ericsson will become Umniah’s exclusive radio access network (RAN) provider for 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies, supporting the operator’s mission to expand coverage, increase capacity, and deliver faster, more reliable, and energy-efficient connectivity across Jordan. The partnership leverages Ericsson’s advanced Radio System portfolio, including the Massive MIMO TDD AIR 6419, dual-band Radio 4490, and Basebands 6631 and 6621—all designed to enhance network performance while minimizing power consumption.
A key element of the collaboration is the deployment of Ericsson Spectrum Sharing technology, which will allow Umniah to seamlessly introduce 5G services over existing 4G bands. This approach will extend next-generation connectivity to underserved areas, promoting digital inclusion and supporting applications such as smart manufacturing, telemedicine, logistics, and immersive digital experiences.
Faisal Al Jalahma, CEO of Umniah by Beyon, emphasized the initiative’s alignment with Jordan’s national digital goals:
“Our partnership with Ericsson represents a major step forward for Umniah and Jordan’s digital future. Together, we are building a foundation for innovation, sustainability, and growth—empowering every customer, business, and community we serve.”
Kevin Murphy, President of Ericsson North Middle East, added:
“This milestone agreement reinforces our long-term partnership with Umniah and commitment to enhancing connectivity, supporting innovation, and accelerating 5G adoption across the Hashemite Kingdom.”
The partnership underscores Beyon’s regional vision of enabling connected, inclusive, and sustainable societies through technology-driven growth, while supporting Jordan’s National Digital Transformation Strategy and the country’s evolution toward a 5G-powered economy.
