The Bahraini Journalists Association (BJA) has expressed deep gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for his unwavering support following the ratification of Bahrain’s Press and Digital Media Law, endorsed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Isa Al Shaiji, Chairman of the BJA, lauded the government’s commitment under HRH’s leadership to creating a legal framework that protects journalists’ rights and regulates digital media in line with Bahrain’s values of responsible and free expression. He praised HRH’s continuous encouragement for the press to uphold professionalism, integrity, and constructive criticism in service to the nation.
Al Shaiji emphasized that the new law represents a milestone in Bahrain’s journalistic development, establishing legal guarantees for credible reporting amid global media transformations. He also highlighted HRH’s longstanding patronage of national journalism, including his support for the Prime Minister’s Journalism Award and the BJA’s silver jubilee celebrations, which reflect his recognition of the press’s vital role in Bahrain’s progress.
The BJA reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Bahrain’s media landscape and upholding journalistic ethics under HRH’s visionary guidance.
