Ooredoo Kuwait Launches Nation’s First NVIDIA-Powered AI Data Center, Ushering a New Digital Era

Ooredoo Kuwait has unveiled Kuwait’s first sovereign AI-enabled data center, powered by NVIDIA technologies, marking a major milestone in the country’s transition toward a smart digital economy. Announced at the fourth Al-Jarida MoneyTech Summit, the initiative positions Ooredoo as a national enabler of AI innovation and computing power.

CEO Abdulaziz Al-Babtain highlighted that the global AI market could surpass USD 1.8 trillion by 2030, emphasizing that Ooredoo aims to position Kuwait among the world’s AI leaders. The new data center integrates NVIDIA’s H200 GPU units, establishing Kuwait’s first comprehensive AI infrastructure aligned with the national AI strategy.

The company has evolved from a telecom operator into Kuwait’s digital backbone, enabling both public and private sectors to leverage AI for smarter operations. Ooredoo is already applying AI for predictive analytics, intelligent network management, smart recruitment, and sustainability-driven innovation.

CTO Issa Haidar noted that the collaboration with NVIDIA redefines Kuwait’s AI-driven economy, allowing enterprises to build and operate AI models locally under strong governance frameworks. Senior Director Nouf Al-Mashaan added that the initiative reflects Ooredoo’s commitment to Kuwait Vision 2035 and its role as a national partner in developing an innovation-led digital economy.
