Egypt PM Madbouly Highlights Digital Skills Success During Visit to Cairo ICT

Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly met with graduates of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s capacity-building programs and several startup founders during a tour of the Cairo International Technology Exhibition (Cairo ICT). The visit focused on reviewing tech projects and measuring progress in boosting employability through digital skills initiatives.

A recipient of the ITIDA Gigs grant shared how paid freelance assignments enabled him to transition directly into the digital workforce after graduating from the Faculty of Computers and Information — earning over $1,000 in a short period and showcasing the program’s impact on job readiness.

The tour coincided with the exhibition’s launch under the theme “AI Everywhere,” with Madbouly observing technology showcases featuring innovation across the Middle East and Africa. Officials used the meetings to assess the effectiveness of training and incubation programs and gather feedback from entrepreneurs on future support needed to scale digital success stories.

The engagement reflects Egypt’s strategy to strengthen its ICT talent pipeline and enhance global competitiveness in the digital economy.
