Zain Kuwait has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Arab Open University – Kuwait (AOU) to establish a broad partnership focused on youth empowerment, education, innovation, research, and national talent development. The agreement aims to equip young Kuwaitis with the skills needed for a knowledge-based digital economy and strengthen links between academia and the labor market.
The MoU was signed at the Zain Innovation Campus (ZINC) in Shuwaikh by Zain Kuwait CEO Nawaf Al-Gharabally and AOU Rector Dr. Salah Al-Hammadi. The partnership reflects Zain’s commitment to supporting education and aligning university programs with emerging needs in technology, telecom, and digital innovation.
Al-Gharabally emphasized that investment in people is at the core of building Kuwait’s digital future, highlighting the partnership’s role in creating training opportunities, joint innovation projects, and recruitment pathways for national talent. Dr. Al-Hammadi noted that the collaboration expands AOU’s research and innovation ecosystem, enabling students and faculty to gain exposure to advanced technical expertise and real-world applications.
Through the agreement, Zain and AOU will work together on workshops, training programs, field internships, and cooperative education initiatives. Zain experts will also participate as lecturers in university programs. The partnership covers advanced technology fields including AI, IoT, smart cities, cybersecurity, and entrepreneurship—supporting Zain’s digital transformation strategy and fostering practical innovation among students.
Corporate social responsibility and sustainability sit at the heart of the MoU, with plans for joint national initiatives, community programs, clean-energy awareness, and youth and women empowerment in technology. The agreement also includes collaboration on career fairs and recruitment of top AOU graduates into Zain’s digital and operational teams.
