TikTok Introduces New ‘Time and Well-Being’ Feature to Promote Healthier Digital Habits

TikTok has launched its new ‘Time and Well-Being’ feature, designed to help users build healthier digital habits and reduce the risk of excessive screen time. The update replaces the old screen-time management page and introduces tools that promote mindfulness, relaxation, and responsible platform use. Features include an affirmational journal with 120+ shareable cards, calming sound generators, and guided breathing exercises. TikTok is also rolling out Well-Being Missions—such as an eight-week Sleep Hours Mission and a Well-Being Ambassador Mission—to encourage consistent positive habits through badges and gamified goals. Developed with insights from the Digital Wellness Lab and TikTok’s own Youth Council, the initiative aims to help users—especially teens—maintain a balanced relationship with technology.
