Oman Strikes Strategic Partnership to Manufacture Mobile Solar Power Plants

AB Energy, a rising Omani clean-energy technology firm, has signed a major partnership with China’s Wuxi Longmax Technology to develop, manufacture, and assemble mobile solar power plants in Oman. The collaboration marks the first initiative of its kind in the country and aims to position Oman as a regional hub for transportable clean-energy systems.

AB Energy — founded by Omani entrepreneur Abdullah Al Saidi — specialises in renewable solutions including mobile solar systems, microgrids, and advanced thermal storage. Wuxi Longmax, with operations in over 50 countries, is globally known for its containerised, off-grid solar technologies designed for rapid deployment.

Under the agreement, both companies will develop “Mobile Solar Container” units for Oman and regional markets such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Yemen, and Rwanda. The long-term vision includes establishing a local assembly line to boost in-country value, support technology transfer, and strengthen Oman’s clean-energy manufacturing capabilities.

Mobile solar power plants — compact systems housed within shipping containers — integrate solar arrays, storage batteries, and power-management equipment into a single transportable unit. They are designed for fast deployment and continuous operation, making them ideal for remote communities, industrial sites, and temporary operations.

Al Saidi noted that the partnership represents a major step toward advancing clean-energy adoption, improving energy efficiency, and contributing to regional sustainability goals. Earlier this year, AB Energy also partnered with OQGN to develop zero-emission heating solutions using sand-based thermal energy storage.
