Nepal Telecom has restored its mobile data service after a disruption lasting a couple of hours on Tuesday, December 2. Users across the country reported that mobile data stopped working around 5:00 PM, with devices showing no data or network indicators despite toggling mobile data settings.
While the disruption affected data connectivity for most users, voice calls, SMS and VoLTE services continued to function normally for many. A few users, however, reported intermittent calling issues during the outage. As of the time of writing, data services have returned to normal, with users once again seeing 4G network indicators on their devices.
The company has not yet issued an official notice explaining the cause of the disruption, though the issue appears to have been resolved within a relatively short period. Nepal Telecom recently upgraded its call centre numbers, allowing customers to reach out for updates during service interruptions.
Users who still face issues are advised to restart their phones, toggle airplane mode, or wait a few minutes for automatic network reconnection. Resetting network settings is generally unnecessary unless other steps fail.
Further updates will be shared once Nepal Telecom releases an official statement regarding the outage.
