Oman to Host Global Semiconductor Executive Summit on December 9–10

Oman is set to host the second edition of the International Semiconductor Executive Summit on December 9 and 10, as part of its broader push to strengthen its position in advanced technology and digital industries. The summit will be organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) under the patronage of Dr. Khamis bin Saif Al Jabri, Chairman of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit.

The two-day event is expected to attract more than 150 participants, including chief executives of major international semiconductor companies, along with policymakers, researchers, and global industry specialists. The summit agenda includes 40 speakers and 25 working papers focused on building an integrated semiconductor industry ecosystem across the Middle East and North Africa.

The summit aligns with Oman’s economic diversification goals and its ambition to advance high-value industries linked to modern technologies, particularly semiconductor and microchip design and manufacturing. These sectors are seen as foundational to future innovation across artificial intelligence, communications, transport, and digital infrastructure.

The programme will feature high-level meetings between government officials and international technology firms, alongside expert-led panel discussions showcasing best practices and successful global models of digital transformation. Advanced technology exhibitions will highlight innovations in smart mobility, next-generation communications, and digital tools that promote infrastructure sustainability.

Specialised workshops will also be held to enhance the skills of national talent and help them adapt to the fast-evolving digital economy. According to MTCIT, the summit is expected to strengthen international partnerships, highlight Oman’s major transport and digital infrastructure projects, and unlock new investment and collaboration opportunities that support the Sultanate’s transition towards a diversified, knowledge-based economy.
