Zain Unveils Three New Disability Inclusion Initiatives to Advance WE ABLE 2030 Vision

Zain Group has launched three new strategic disability inclusion initiatives to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3, reinforcing its long-term WE ABLE 2030 vision under the group’s ‘4WARD – Progress with Purpose’ strategy. The initiatives aim to embed accessibility and inclusion into Zain’s core business operations across hiring, procurement, employee development, and community engagement.

The three initiatives include a strategic partnership with the Business Disability Forum (BDF), the launch of a new GROW program batch for graduates with disabilities, and the introduction of personalized Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for employees with disabilities. Collectively, these measures move WE ABLE 2030 from vision to execution across Zain’s entire ecosystem.

Through its partnership with BDF, Zain has become the first telecom operator in the MENA region to collaborate with the global organization. This partnership enables Zain to integrate accessibility requirements into its procurement and supplier evaluation processes while also strengthening its international advocacy efforts through access to BDF’s global network of over 600 member organizations.

As part of its inclusive hiring commitment, Zain has opened applications for a new GROW program batch designed specifically for graduates with disabilities. The three-month specialized training and internship program will be rolled out in 2026 across four Zain markets, offering equitable access to structured learning and professional work experience.

Zain has also introduced personalized Individual Development Plans for employees with disabilities. Built from a comprehensive internal survey, these IDPs are designed to support career progression, leadership pathways, and tailored professional development based on individual aspirations and support needs.

Zain Vice Chairman and Group CEO Bader Al-Kharafi said the initiatives represent a deliberate effort to redesign how the company hires, develops, procures, and advocates so that accessibility and disability inclusion are embedded into every decision. He added that WE ABLE 2030 is focused on ensuring people with disabilities are not only included but are actively shaping the next chapter of digital progress.

Over the past year, Zain’s disability inclusion efforts have also been recognized globally, with case studies published by PurpleSpace and Be My Eyes. More than 20 disability etiquette sessions were delivered across the group, and Zain employees completed over 1,500 volunteer calls on the Be My Eyes platform in 2025.
