Omantel Partners with Be’ah to Strengthen E-Waste Management Across Oman

Omantel has announced a new collaboration with the Oman Environmental Services Holding Company (Be’ah) to enhance electronic waste management practices across the Sultanate, in line with Oman Vision 2040 and both organizations’ sustainability commitments. The partnership focuses on improving the efficiency of e-waste collection and recycling, raising public awareness, and launching joint environmental initiatives that promote responsible resource management.

Under the agreement, a joint working team will oversee the rollout of community programs, measure their impact, and explore additional areas for cooperation. The initiative covers a wide range of electronic waste, including mobile phones, computers, routers, servers, and household electrical appliances that have reached the end of their life cycle. Omantel and Be’ah are already coordinating with Evergreen Gulf Recycling Hub to ensure that e-waste is directed to approved recycling facilities.

The collaboration also explores the integration of artificial intelligence and Internet of Things technologies within Be’ah’s operations to improve real-time monitoring and system visibility. By combining Omantel’s digital infrastructure with Be’ah’s waste management expertise, the partnership aims to drive higher efficiency and a measurable shift in sector performance. Both organizations were recently recognized with the Forbes Middle East Sustainability Leaders Award 2025 for their regional contributions to sustainability
